SIGGRAPH - Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques

SIGGRAPH Steven A. Coons Award

Given to an individual who has made a significant lasting contribution to the field of computer graphics, both directly and through others over an extended period of time, and includes a prize of $6,000. The award is given in odd numbered years.

SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award

Given to recognize an individual for an outstanding achievement in computer graphics and interactive techniques. The award includes a prize of $2,000.

SIGGRAPH Outstanding Service Award

Given in even-numbered years to recognize outstanding service to SIGGRAPH by a volunteer and recognizes persons who have given extraordinary service both in the trenches and in positions of more responsibility or visibility, over a significant period of time.

SIGGRAPH Significant New Researcher Award

This annual award is given to a researcher who has made a recent significant contribution to the field of computer graphics and is new to the field. The intent is to recognize people very early in their careers who have already made a notable contribution and are likely to make more.

SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art

Awarded annually to an artist who has created a substantial and important body of work that significantly advances aesthetic content in the field of digital art.

SIGGRAPH Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

Awarded annually to recognize a recent doctoral candidate who has successfully defended and completed his or her Ph.D. dissertation in computer graphics and interactive techniques.

SIGGRAPH Practitioner Award

Given to recognize outstanding contributions to the practice and advancement of Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques.The award includes a prize of $2,000, a plaque and travel and registration expenses for the North American SIGGRAPH conference.

SIGGRAPH Academy

The ACM SIGGRAPH Academy is an honorary group of individuals who have made substantial contributions to the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques. Selected annually, these are the principal leaders of the field, whose efforts have shaped the disciplines and/or industry, and led the research and/or innovation in computer graphics and interactive techniques.

SIGGRAPH Distinguished Educator Award

Given annually by ACM SIGGRAPH to recognize pedagogical contributions to computer graphics and interactive techniques at any educational level or within the context of any discipline.

SIGKDD Impact Program Awards

ACM SIGKDD announced seven recipients for its inaugural KDD Impact Program, which aims to fund projects that have the potential for maximum impact on society. The proposals covered training data scientists; a hackathon; use of algorithms by government; women data science leaders; a summer school for high school students; data science for social good; and promoting community understanding of Big Data.

Apply for SIGHPC/Intel Computational & Data Science Fellowships

ACM SIGHPC and Intel are encouraging graduate students in data science and computational science to apply for an international program of graduate fellowships that aims to increase diversity in these fields. To qualify, you must be pursuing a graduate degree in computational or data science, be less than halfway through your planned program of study, and be woman and/or a member of a racial/ethnic group that is currently underrepresented in the computing field in the country where you will earn the degree. The deadline for applications is April 30.
